Another awesome purchase from Baby Accessories & More By Lorena

I custom ordered a few weeks ago a couple of beanies big enough to hold in my hair.  Needless to say, when I got them in, once again I was pleased with my order.  Not only are they adorable and made to my specifications (I ordered one to look like a watermelon and another like carrot cake), they fit PERFECT!  My bun was held in nicely and I love that the hats also fit over my ears.  Very important for when the weather gets cold as my ears need to be warm in order for me to be happy :)  Check out Lorena and her crochet goodies at Baby Accessories & More By Lorena on Facebook.

Plants and Zombies Sunflower!

This was a custom request plush from a friend for the Singing Sunflower from "Plants and Zombies" and World of Warcraft.  She's 12 inches tall, her head is 9" wide and the base with petals is 10.5" in diameter.

I've never made a plush like this before so it was a bit of a challenge for me to figure it out since I don't usually make plushies.  This was actually a lot easier and took a lot less time than I thought.  A while back I had bought some faux flowers from Michael's to make hair clips with and saved one of the bendable stems for a future project.  That stem came in handy for this future project as I shaped the ends to be able to hold up the sunflower head and also to make her stand.  Only her head has been stuffed with polyfill.  I was concerned that the stuffing might actually make her fall over if the base and stem was stuffed so I left the those the way they were.

All in all, I'm very proud of how she turned out and I see a lot more plushies to be made in the future :)

Thomas the Train and Friends

I made this cute set as a request from my friend for her son. Like the magnets, plastic bottlecaps are used to give the stacked look of the locomotives.

Plastic bottle cap OWL magnets

I think these plastic bottle cap Owl magnets are my favorites so far! I made these using plastic bottle caps from juice bottles and soda bottles with some felt, stuffing, love and imagination!

Happy Almost Halloween!

Although I don't partake in the costumes, I love Halloween because of the creepy (but cute!) decor and also because it takes place in the Fall (one of my favorite seasons). Of course, I can't also not make any Halloween stuff :)

I just finished making a Halloween bottle cap magnet set. I may be a little biased but I am really loving the new magnets :) Click on the picture to take you to the Etsy listing for more details.

Wonk Wonk Wonk

Who as a child (or adult!) didn't play PacMan in the 80s? It was (and still is) one of my favorite arcade games. I remember as a kid being at the dentist and playing PacMan until they called me in for my dreaded orthodontist appointment. They sure knew how to take a kid off her mind with an arcade machine!

Making this felt PacMan with pellet beads does take me back to the 80s. I can do without the skinny pants and should pads though :)

Kawaii Bear Billfold Wallet

It pretty much took me all day in between doing other stuff, but I spent my 4th of July holiday making this billfold wallet for a coworker for her birthday. She had originally wanted to commission me to make this wallet a few months ago but we never got around to finalizing anything so I decided to surprise her the next time I see her at work.

I'm pretty proud of how this turned out seeing this was my first time making this type of wallet. I could have made things a lot easier if I machine stitched everything but I like sewing by hand. The internal blue compartment and white card pockets were machine stitched to give it a cleaner look. Everything else was hand stitched. I didn't like the back of the wallet to be plain so I decided to put her initials within a fluffy cloud to give a little bit of personalization.

I am pretty sure the next few billfolds I make will not take me all day to make just one :)

New business card / gift card holders recently made. They will be added to the Etsy shop within the next day or so. The poo cloud is my favorite!
