This is officially my new deconstructed refashion men's t-shirt. I've been wanting to incorporate fabric into a remake but never really had the time to figure it out. I love Social D and love how this came out. I used a black and white striped jersey knit for the side panels and the band. As always, I cut off the crew to make the shirt more feminine and added elastic to the inside top of the sleeveless part to make it shirred. Yay for a new shirt!

Fabric Basket - Pinterest Craft Challenge
I found this fabulous fabric basket tutorial months ago on Pinterest and didn't have a chance to tackle the project until my friend mentioned she wanted one. She just happened to have a birthday around the same time she mentioned it so I decided to make her one as a surprise (along with some fabric napkins and fabric kitchen towels we were trading services for). This is the pin of the website I saw and the directions are fantastically easy. I found some awesome gray and white chevron fabric and matching geometric circles at Joann's.
Here are some pics from different angles of the basket. In one of the pics, I filled the basket with the napkins I made for her. I'll have a separate post for the napkins later.

Kids Art Case
I was asked this month to make this adorable art case for my friend's son. She sent in her son's fabric choices and her specs and this was the result. The case has a pocket for his color pencils and a velcro closure tab. I've seen ones made where there were individual pockets for each crayon or pencil. It was pretty easy to make considering that I've never made one before. I think I will make more of these in the future to stash away as kids gifts!

Ruffle Purse
I made this ruffle bag for my friend, Karey who requested it after seeing this purse on Pinterest. I have to admit, this purse was a lot of work since I never read the directions thoroughly and just end up tackling the project head on after skimming the tutorial. Of course, there is actually a lot more detailing than what I normally have patience for and I have to say, I am once again pleased with the outcome. Enough that I'm willing to make another one or two as gifts.

Day 5 of the 30 Day Pinterest Craft Challenge - Circle Skirt
I love love love circle skirts and dresses so it was a no brainer when I saw this post from iCandy on Pinterest that I would be making this. Drafting my own pattern was easier than I thought but this did take me longer than I expected because I'm super picky and kept trimming and trimming until I was satisfied. Then it took me over a half hour to add on the black and white piping only to realize when I was finished that I wasn't loving it. I didn't like how it makes the bottom of the skirt a bit wonky because it tends to curl. And it made it a bit more fancy than I wanted for every day wear. I think if the trim was on a stiffer cotton material opposed to the jersey knit, it would not curl as much. I wanted to post this up to make sure I wasn't slacking for the challenge but I'll be removing the trim this week so that it will be more simple. I'll just save the trim for another dress.

Day 3 -of the 30 Day Pinterest Craft Challenge - Black and White Striped Top
When I saw the below top on Pinterest, I fell in love. I originally thought this was recon shirt but when I clicked on the link, there wasn't a tutorial so I decided to wing it and figure it out. It was actually pretty easy and the shirt is very similar in style to Bandana Pillowcase Dress I made for the 1st day of the Craft Challenge. Except, I adapted it to make it into a shirt for a grown woman and not a kid. I loved how this turned out so I'm definitely going to make a few more. A girl can never have too many tops for a night on the town. That is, if I actually went out.
